ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast predominantly dry weather across the country on Thursday, with isolated rain and thunderstorms expected in Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.
In Islamabad and adjoining areas, dry weather is expected, with partly cloudy conditions likely during the afternoon.
Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to remain dry; however, rain-wind/thunderstorm is likely in Kohistan, Mansehra, Battagram and Abbottabad during the afternoon.
Most parts of Punjab are also likely to experience dry weather, while Murree, Galiyat and adjoining areas are expected to remain partly cloudy.
Hot and dry weather is likely to prevail over most districts of Sindh and Balochistan.
In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, partly cloudy weather is expected, with isolated rain-wind/thunderstorm likely at some places.
During the last 24 hours, rain-windstorm/thunderstorm occurred at scattered places in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and at isolated places in Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Hailstorm and heavy rain were also recorded at isolated places.
The highest rainfall was recorded at Islamabad Airport and Sialkot City, both receiving 35 mm, followed by Dera Ghazi Khan’s Vehova 30 mm, Dera Ismail Khan Airport 22 mm, Bannu 19 mm and Layyah 11 mm.
The highest maximum temperature was recorded at Turbat at 42C, followed by Sibbi at 40C and Sahiwal at 38C.
The maximum temperature in Islamabad is expected to remain 32C, Lahore 33C, Karachi 34C, Peshawar 32C, Quetta 31C, Gilgit 28C, Muzaffarabad 35C, Skardu 22C, Murree 22C, Faisalabad 35C and Multan 35C.
