ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah Khan has described the defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye as a historic document signed on the sacred soil of Makkah, saying it represents a significant step towards unity among the Muslim Ummah.
He said Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan had been brought together through the joint defence agreement, describing the pact as a “document of Muslim unity” and the realisation of a long-cherished dream of the Muslim Ummah.
Rana Sanaullah said the agreement marked a golden moment in the realisation of that dream and congratulated Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for accomplishing what he termed a historic feat.
He said Pakistan’s historic and constructive role in bringing the three countries closer could not be overlooked.
“Those familiar with history know that the presence of Türkiye and Saudi Arabia on the same side is no ordinary development,” he said, adding that it had taken almost a century for the two countries to come together at the same table.
The adviser said the agreement would not remain confined to defence cooperation but would also benefit the three countries in trade and other areas of mutual cooperation.
He expressed the hope that the benefits of such agreements would soon become visible in Pakistan, particularly in the national economy, and eventually reach the common people.
Rana Sanaullah said enhanced cooperation among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye would open new avenues for economic and commercial engagement and further strengthen relations among the three brotherly countries.
