ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has termed the defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye a historic milestone, saying the pact would further strengthen Pakistan’s defence and security.
He said just as former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had made Pakistan a nuclear power, making the country’s defence invincible, the Makkah Defence Agreement under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir represented another major development for Pakistan’s security.
Ali Pervaiz Malik said it was a significant achievement that the agreement stipulated that aggression against any one of the three countries would be regarded as aggression against all three.
He said the collective defence commitment reflected the strength of the strategic partnership among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye and would serve as an important deterrent against any potential aggression.
