
ISLAMABAD:The Ministry of Religious Affairs, on Thursday said that the mandatory online registration process for Hajj 2027 is continuing uninterrupted, allowing prospective pilgrims to complete their registration from the comfort of their homes.
According to a spokesperson, the latest statistics generated through the Hajj Management System, developed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB), reveal a strong response from intending pilgrims across the country.
More than 80,000 applicants have registered within the first three days of the registration drive. Among them, those wishing to depart from Karachi constitute the largest group, followed by applicants selecting Lahore and Islamabad as their departure stations.
The registered pilgrims include approximately 47,000 men and 33,000 women. Officials have described it as encouraging that the majority of registered applicants fall within the 25 to 50-year age bracket.
Educational data of registered applicants shows that around 1,000 hold PhD degrees, 17,000 possess master’s degrees, 21,000 have bachelor’s qualifications, and 12,000 have completed intermediate (FA) education.
The Ministry stated that, with the support of the National Information Technology Board, the Hajj operation is being transformed into a fully paperless and end-to-end digital system, aimed at improving efficiency and transparency.
The mandatory registration campaign for Hajj 2027 will continue during public holidays. Details regarding Hajj expenses and other operational arrangements will be announced during the second phase of the process.
