ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry informed the National Assembly that more than 2,000 Pakistani students have started returning from Iran as the government continues to monitor the situation and facilitate their safe return.
Speaking during the Question Hour, the minister said the number of Pakistani students moving from Iran towards Pakistan had crossed 2,000.
He added that the government and relevant authorities were working in close coordination to ensure their safe return.
Responding to a question regarding Pakistanis in Qatar, the minister said Pakistan’s embassy and consulate there were fully operational and actively assisting citizens.
He said the safest route from Qatar was through the Saudi Arabia border, which was about an hour’s drive away. From there, Pakistanis could travel to Riyadh or Jeddah and make further travel arrangements.
“Our missions are helping citizens and guiding them about the easiest and safest routes,” he said.
The minister assured the House that Pakistani diplomatic missions abroad were actively supporting citizens and students and providing necessary assistance during the ongoing situation.
