ISLAMABAD:Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, and SAFRON Engr. Amir Muqam on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, diplomatic and moral support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), emphasizing, Pakistan will continue to advocate for their right to self-determination at every international forum.

Addressing the Kashmir Black Day rally at D-Chowk, the minister paid rich tribute to the courage and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people who have been enduring brutal oppression since October 27, 1947 — the day Indian forces forcibly occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The minister said thousands of Kashmiris have been martyred in custody and during decades of conflict. Despite India’s continuous repression and military presence of nearly 900,000 troops, the determination of Kashmiri people for freedom and their love for Pakistan remain steadfast.

“October 27 marks the darkest chapter in South Asian history when Indian troops illegally entered and occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, for more than 77 years, the people of Kashmir have faced unimaginable atrocities but have never let their spirit of resistance fade,” said Amir Muqam.

The minister acknowledged the presence of Chairman Kashmir Committee Rana Qasim Noon, Secretary Kashmir Affairs Zafar Hasan, and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, among other dignitaries and representatives from diverse walks of life.

Muqam condemned India’s every attempts to alter the demographic composition of Jammu and Kashmir through unconstitutional measures taken on August 5, 2019, rejecting it and continued to reject such illegal moves.

He also said that Indian authorities were demolishing and bulldozing homes and attempting to alter the region’s demographic character.

“If peace is to prevail in South Asia, the Kashmir dispute must be resolved in line with UN resolutions. There is no alternative path to lasting regional stability,” he stressed.

He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s stance remains unchanged — the Kashmir issue must be resolved in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

He also praised the leadership of the Hurriyat Conference for keeping the Kashmir cause alive globally and commended Pakistan’s armed forces for their courage and commitment and giving a befitting response to enemy during Marka-e-Haq.

“From Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to this day, our stance remains firm — Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan. We will not rest until the people of Jammu and Kashmir are granted their right to self-determination. Insha’Allah, the day is not far when Kashmir will become part of Pakistan,” he said.

The minister reiterated Pakistan’s long-standing stance that the Kashmir dispute must be resolved in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and by asking the Kashmiri people for their wishes.

“This is not a new demand; it is the implementation of U.N resolutions and the legitimate right of the Kashmiri people,” he said, adding, “Pakistan has — and will continue to — provide diplomatic, political and moral support for their struggle.”

He also praised recent actions by Pakistan’s armed forces, saying their professionalism and valor had invigorated the Kashmir cause internationally.

The minister thanked participants and organizers of the event and vowed that Pakistan would continue to keep the Kashmir issue alive on all international platforms until the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination is realized.

Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Sweet Home, Zamurd Khan, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, in his address, paid glowing tribute to the Kashmiri mothers who proudly bury their martyred sons in the flag of Pakistan, symbolizing their unwavering bond with the country.

He pledged that Pakistan’s Parliament and people would continue to uphold the dream of “Kashmir Banega Pakistan” (Kashmir will become Pakistan) and stand shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters.

He also lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces for defending the nation’s honour and reiterated that the hearts of Pakistani children and youth beat in unison with those of Kashmiri children, carrying the message of unity, faith, and determination for a free Kashmir.

Senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC),Farooq Rehmani, expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan, its institutions, and the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs for organizing nationwide events on Kashmir Black Day, to express solidarity with the oppressed people of IIOJK.

“The manner in which Pakistan is observing October 27 across cities, towns, and overseas missions sends a clear message to the world that Pakistan stands firmly with the Kashmiri struggle for freedom,” Rehmani said.

He praised Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam and other officials for their efforts and also thanked the attendees — especially women, students, and members of the Kashmir Council and legislative assemblies — for their participation.

Rehmani said India’s reaction to these events reflects its nervousness, adding that “New Delhi mistakenly believes it has swallowed Kashmir, but this is its greatest illusion.” He noted that the struggle for freedom continues not only within Kashmir but also among Kashmiri diaspora communities around the world.

Highlighting human rights abuses, the APHC leader said that nearly 8,000 Kashmiri youth and students are currently imprisoned in various Indian jails, including Delhi’s notorious Tihar Jail, where senior Kashmiri leaders have been detained for decades.

Rehmani condemned India’s post-2019 actions following the revocation of Article 370, saying they represent a systematic attempt to change the demographic character of Jammu and Kashmir.

He stated that over 3.5 million domicile certificates have been issued to non-residents, while Indian citizens have been allowed to purchase land and property in the occupied territory.

“This is part of a well-planned demographic invasion meant to turn the Muslim-majority region into a Hindu-majority area under the Hindutva ideology of Prime Minister Modi’s regime,” he warned.

Rehmani concluded by saying that despite such repressive tactics, the determination of Kashmiris remains unbroken. “Kashmir today stands as a symbol of courage and resistance — a reality that continues to challenge India’s occupation,” he said.

Muhammad Hanif Malik, a member of the Kashmir Council, thanked Pakistani institutions and leaders for mobilizing nationwide and global solidarity events on October 27 to condemn India’s alleged illegal actions in IIOJ&K.

He praised Federal Minister Amir Muqam for his tireless efforts in raising Kashmir’s cause within Pakistan and abroad.

Malik said the Kashmiris, along with their brethren across the Line of Control, have gathered their families, youth and elders today to give practical expression to their struggle and to show that Pakistan stands firmly with their quest for justice.

Malik vowed that Kashmiris will continue to pledge their loyalty to Pakistan and that the aspiration “Kashmir will become part of Pakistan” remains alive. He saluted the resilience of Kashmiri people and reiterated that their allegiance to Pakistan will endure.

Chairman Kashmir Committee of the Parliament Rana Qasim Noon, MNA Anjum Aqeel, Secretary Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan & SAFRON Zafar Hasan, Secretary Foreign Affairs Amna Baloch, alongside students and citizens from various walks of life were also present there.

Earlier, one-minute silence was observed at 10 in the morning to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people and the legitimate struggle against illegal Indian occupation.
