Special Message by the Nawab Begum of Junagadh State

“The sacrifices of our martyrs and the courage of our armed forces are an unforgettable chapter of our national history. The defence and stability of Pakistan are a collective responsibility.” — Aliya Dilawar Khanji

Islamabad: Nawab Begum of Junagadh State, Her Highness Aliya Dilawar Khanji, has paid rich tribute to the martyrs, veterans and armed forces of Pakistan on the occasion of Defence Day, observed on 6 September, saying that the day is a powerful reminder of national unity, courage, sacrifice and unwavering love for the motherland.

In her special message, Her Highness said that the courage and determination demonstrated by the Pakistan Armed Forces and the Pakistani nation during the 1965 war remain a proud and unforgettable chapter of the country’s history.

She said that the martyrs who laid down their lives in defence of the homeland wrote a glorious history with their blood, and their sacrifices will always remain alive in the hearts of the Pakistani nation.

The Nawab Begum further stated that the relationship between the State of Junagadh and Pakistan is not merely a chapter of history, but represents a deep historical, constitutional and national bond. The aspirations and sentiments of the people of Junagadh towards Pakistan remain an important part of this historic relationship.

Her Highness Aliya Dilawar Khanji said that Defence Day should not only be an occasion to pay tribute to the martyrs and veterans, but also an opportunity to renew our commitment to the sovereignty, integrity, dignity and stability of Pakistan.

She emphasized that a strong Pakistan is built not only through a strong defence, but also through national unity, economic strength, education, the rule of law and collective responsibility. She called upon the nation to rise above differences and work together for the progress, prosperity and stability of Pakistan.

Paying tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces, she said that the nation’s armed forces have rendered extraordinary sacrifices in safeguarding the country and its people. The entire nation stands united with the families of the martyrs and honours their sacrifices with the highest respect.

The Nawab Begum of Junagadh State said:

“Defence Day reminds us that nations are strengthened not merely by their territories, but by their unity, principles, sacrifices and determination. Pakistan is a trust inherited through the hopes and sacrifices of our forefathers, and protecting this trust is a collective responsibility of us all.”

Her Highness prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs, the safety and well-being of the veterans and their families, and for the continued peace, stability, prosperity and progress of Pakistan.
