TASHKENT : Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja on Sunday discussed cooperation and shared insights on the electoral process with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan, Zainuddin Nizamkhojaev Makhmatovich.
CEC Raja is currently in Tashkent as a special observer for the ongoing parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan.
Both officials agreed to enhance mutual cooperation, with the meeting focusing on the exchange of electoral experiences between the two countries.
The Chief Election Commissioner visited several polling stations in Tashkent, where he closely monitored the electoral process. He commended the arrangements made for voter convenience and recognized the performance of the polling staff.
During his visit, Sikandar Sultan Raja also toured Tashkent University of Journalism and Mass Communications, a prestigious educational institution in Uzbekistan. He received a comprehensive briefing on the university’s modern educational facilities and media labs.
Last Saturday, the Chief Election Commissioner participated in an important briefing hosted by the Uzbekistan Election Commission, which featured Election Commission Chairpersons from various countries. The session provided detailed insights into Uzbekistan’s electoral system, legal framework, and the arrangements for conducting elections.
