Malaysians all over shall celebrates it’s National Day today. There will be burst of pegeantry and accompanied national pride in Malaysia as people will celebrate this event. But this year the event becomes special because the Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was on an official visit to our country Pakistan. Malaysia is a brother Muslim country that is blessed and privileged to not only enjoy its independence but great development and progress to stand out as a great economic power in South East Asia. Having gained independence in 1957. The journey from 1957 to 2024 has been one of remarkable transformation from a newly independent state to a modern welfare state that acts as a becon of light for the entire Muslim Ummah and the world. Pakistan and Malaysia enjoy good bilateral relations and it is hoped that both Pakistan and Malaysia will improve the bilateral relationship. One indicator of that is
that the PMs o both the countries agreed to export Halal meat worth $200 million per annum and 100,000 metric tonnes of Basmati Rice from Pakistan to Malaysia.
Presently trade between both Malaysia and Pakistan stands at $1.4 billion per annum. The trade goods included palm oil, apparel, textiles, chemical and chemical-based products, and electrics and electronic products. Among South Asian countries, Pakistan is Malaysia’s third-largest trading partner and it is hoped that this partnership will continue to grow in future.
