The Karachi Garrison Education System hosted Mr. G. Mohiuddin Asim, Additional Secretary, DEPD and Director General, SPDPA as a guest speaker. The focus of program was an interactive session on “Inclusive Education for Children of Special Needs and Empowerment”.
This lecture cum interactive session was held at the main Auditorium of KGES which was very well attended by a diverse audience around 350+, including educators, special education professionals, Army officers, parents and academia. The purpose of the event was to enlighten the importance of inclusive education and the empowerment of children with special needs.
Key initiatives under the “Inclusive Education for Children of Special Needs and Empowerment were highlighted with the emphasis on the development of tailored curriculam that meet the unique needs of children with disabilities, training programs for teachers to better equip them with the skills required to handle diverse classrooms, and implementation of support services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy and counselling.
Sir shared some inspiring success stories of children who, through the program, have overcome significant challenges to achieve academic and personal milestones. He also mentioned the progress and achievements of DEPD, Government of Sindh, for the protection of the rights of PWDs, their education, rehabilitation and overall welfare across the province.
The lecture was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees. His insights and experiences provided valuable knowledge and inspiration to all present, reinforcing the commitment to promoting inclusive education and empowerment for children with special needs.
In the last, Brig. Nazir Ahmed (Rtd), on behalf of The Karachi Garrison Education System extends heartfelt gratitude to Mr. G. Mohiuddin Asim for his illuminating presentation and unwavering dedication to the cause of inclusive education. As a token of recognition of his services for the PWDs, Mr. Asim was presented a shield and a book. Other team members like Mr. Farman Tanwari, Regional Director DEPD Karachi, Mr. Qamar Shahid Siddiqui, Director SPAC-DEPD, and Mr. Sheeraz Leghari, Director (Operations) SPDPA were also presented shields. The session was ended with National Anthem.
