ISLAMABAD:Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Tuesday said that government had decided to call all parties conference (APC), to discuss plan of operation “Azm-e-Istekham” to flush out terrorism and bring complete peace and prosperity for the people of Pakistan.
Opposition parties should come forward for comprehensive talks with the government so that all important national issues like terrorism could be addressed in a proper manner, he said while talking to a private television channel.
Comprehensive dialogue with Opposition is essential for achieving the progress, he said. Intelligence based operations are already continuing in various parts and our armed forces “Jawans” sacrificing their lives for this country, he said. We have made tremendous success in fighting war on terror, he added.
The entire nation and the political parties including Opposition will support the operation Azm-e-Istekham, being launched to eradicate menace of terrorism from this country, he said.
Commenting on behavior of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he said, we had offered PTI to sit on the table for talks but the leaders of that party rejected the offer made by the government for resolving political issues.
In reply to a question about phone call taping, he said the founder of PTI had appreciated call “taping” in the past for security reasons but now, the leader of PTI criticizing the matter of taping.
