KARACHI:The International Markets Development Division (IMDD) of TDAP, in collaboration with the High Commission of Pakistan in Rwanda, organized a “Webinar on Explore the African Market- Rwanda” on 2nd May, 2024. The webinar saw an active participation from over 100 representatives spanning various sectors from both Pakistan and Rwanda. H.E. Mr. Naeem Khan, the Ambassador of Pakistan in Rwanda, extended a warm welcome to all the participants and emphasized the significance of enhancing bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Rwanda. He highlighted the vast potential for cooperation in sectors such as Agri-machinery, sports goods, rice, surgical, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, textile & leather products along with apparels and garments. Mr. Asim Ali Khan DHM in Rwanda informed the participants that bilateral trade volume of Pakistan and Rwanda will reach $100 million, due to the concerted efforts of the High Commission, TDAP, and the Ministry of Commerce. Furthermore, Rwanda’s recent decision to open its Embassy in Islamabad will further strengthen the diplomatic ties between the two sides.

During the interactive session, participants engaged in discussions covering various topics such as potential products of interest, visa requirements & procedures, customs duties and regulations, business tourism prospects, and demand for bakery products, textile items, pharmaceuticals, as well as cosmetic and plastic items.
Mr. Asim Ali Khan, Deputy Head of Mission (DHM) in Rwanda, reiterated the commitment of the Pakistani government to extend full support to companies seeking to do business and export to Rwanda.
It is to note that TDAP, in collaboration with the High Commission of Pakistan in Rwanda, is planning to participate in Rwanda International Trade Fair (RITF), which is scheduled to be held from 25th July to 15th August in Rwanda.
In conclusion, the webinar aimed to serve as a platform to foster collaboration and explore opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships between Pakistan and Rwanda.
