Karachi Pakistan: (www.thenewslark.com) Majmua The Art Gallery showcased 16 emerging artists works in a group show. This was the week of Celebration for Ibne Sina.The exhibition also had awards and certificates for artists that participatedThe Participating artists were : Preh Bughio, Faiza Adeel, Aiza Junsid, Shazia Nayyar, Fatima Arzoo Hassan , Asiya Ali, Rehana Rafiq, Mariam Maaz, Zeba Raza, Sadia Nisar Dr. Fatima Amir Kamal,Durre Samin, Kanza Abrar, Uswa Imtiaz , Rabiya Rizwan & Syed Nabeel Ahmed.Since it was an open theme the artists chose nature , portraiture work , landscape, abstract , conceptual art to express them selves. Some works were inspired by Ibne Sina as you saw a portrait of Fatima Al Fikhri the famous educationist and social welfare woman from Morroco her portrait along with a number of beautiful calligraphies and the Hajia Sophia Mosque of Istanbul. The show was varied but still managed to capture in spirit the beauty of Art in the golden period .The paintings filled the gallery giving its own ambiance and the excited young artists eagerly awaited for their names to be called out during the award and certificate ceremony.Ms. Mehreen Ilahi of Majmua The Art gallery had collaborated with Mr. Shahzad Khatri of Art corner to create this magnificent show.The chief guest for this show was Ms. Soobia Khan, a banker with JPMorgan visiting from the USA. She plans to arrange from time to time exhibitions in Houston ,USA. She will also work to create a fund for scholarships in Art in the US. Two guests of honours were also present. Mr. Bilal Masood who had his own IT company and was quite keen to give artists hands-on training in selling their art through Social Media Platforms. His company has a collaboration with Pixar animations. The second guest of Honour was Mr. Babar Ali who has a Human rights organisation and justice for Peace. Currently they are working on the Rights of the elderly and also collecting 1000 signatures for it. Dr. Aydin who could not attend the event but supported the exhibition in spirit, his Pakistan Turkey cultural Forum and WAF were part of the certificates given to all the Artists.Mehreen Ilahi also announced Majmuas collaboration with Dr. Aydin’s Ibne Sina Institute and The Silk Route Project as well as Muslim Heritage Forum for which Mous were recently signed.
