ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi presided over the Annual General Meeting of the Advisory Board of the Al-Mizan Foundation, where the body approved its Strategic Goals (2025–2030), modernized governance instruments, and the Annual Budget for FY 2026-27.
The high-level session, held here in the Conference Room of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, brought together Chief Justices from all High Courts to review operational progress and chart out long-term institutional reforms.
During the meeting, the Advisory Board evaluated the implementation of its earlier decisions and endorsed a complete package of updated governance policies.
These included amendments to the Memorandum and Articles of Association, featuring a revised Schedule of Delegation of Financial Powers, along with updated service rules, endowment and investment fund regulations, and comprehensive policies governing welfare delivery, property allotments, and market administration.
To reinforce institutional transparency and fiscal accountability, the Board authorized a multi-year statutory external audit covering six financial years from FY 2020-21 through FY 2025-26. While approving the new annual budget, the members expressed satisfaction with strong income realization, prudent cost controls, improved financial reporting, and the foundation’s steady movement toward full audit and tax compliance.
A major highlight of the session was the review of a renewed 25-year collaborative agreement with the Islamic International Medical College (IIMC) Trust. Under the enhanced framework, the foundation secured a 148 percent increase in royalty, 43 annual academic scholarships across medical and undergraduate degree programs, and continued healthcare support through partner hospitals.
The Board also noted key steps taken toward establishing the proposed Al-Mizan IIMC-Trust Medical Complex at the foundation’s premises.
The Advisory Board praised ongoing digital transformation initiatives, record management modernization, and the overall oversight exercised by the Committee of Administration to support judicial staff and beneficiaries. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the chair.
