ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Wednesday postponed proceedings in a private complaint filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding alleged deaths and injuries during the party’s November 26 protest.The court adjourned the case until July 22 after the complainant’s counsel requested more time due to the absence of senior lawyer Latif Khosa, who is currently abroad.Additional District and Sessions Judge, Muhammad Afzal Majoka heard the case at the District and Sessions Court Islamabad.PTI Chairman, Barrister Gohar appeared before the court during the hearing. He requested a later date, stating that Latif Khosa was out of the country and would be able to participate in the proceedings after his return.Judge Afzal Majoka asked about the duration of Latif Khosa’s stay abroad and requested details of his travel schedule. Barrister Gohar responded that he would provide the information and sought a hearing date in August.During the exchange, Barrister Gohar remarked that if the case were dismissed due to the absence of counsel, the matter could be taken to the Islamabad High Court. He also expressed concerns about the judicial process while clarifying that his comments were not directed at the presiding judge.In response, Judge Afzal Majoka stated that no decision against Barrister Gohar had ever been issued by his court and suggested fixing a short date, with a formal adjournment request to be submitted if necessary.After hearing the arguments, the court adjourned the proceedings until July 22.The private complaint relates to alleged deaths and injuries reported during PTI’s November 26 protest.
