ISLAMABAD: Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry on Monday hailed the Iran-US peace agreement, brokered with Pakistan’s active mediation, as a landmark diplomatic achievement that would strengthen regional stability, ease global tensions and promote long-term peace and economic prosperity.
In a statement issued here, Barrister Danyal said the agreement between Iran and the United States, expected to be formally observed on June 19, demonstrated the power of dialogue over confrontation.
He credited Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for their roles in facilitating diplomatic engagement and advancing efforts that helped bridge differences between the two countries.
“This agreement proves that diplomacy, not destruction, is the path to progress,” he said, adding that Pakistan’s leadership and security institutions worked in close coordination to support the peace process and encourage constructive engagement.
Barrister Danyal said the breakthrough reflected the confidence of both Tehran and Washington in Pakistan’s balanced and principled foreign policy.
He further noted that the ceasefire and subsequent peace arrangement would help stabilize a volatile region and contribute to improved global energy supply chains, providing relief to developing economies facing economic pressures.
He also acknowledged the support of friendly countries, including Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, for encouraging restraint and backing diplomatic efforts.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace, Barrister Danyal said the country would continue supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening regional harmony and international cooperation. He described the agreement as a message that Pakistan remained a force for stability, unity and hope in an increasingly uncertain world.
