(http//:www.thenewslark.com) On the occasion of the 37th Death anniversary of Imam Khomeini, a very special programme was held at the Iranian Consulate on Friday, 5th June, 2026, where speakers, including scholars, intellectuals, journalists, and researchers, paid a rich tribute to the late Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, and Shaheed AyatullahKhamenei. Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, His Excellency Akbar Eissa Zadeh, said that the Khomeini movement was deeply influenced by the true spirit of the Quran, the Seerah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ( Peace be upon him), and the pure thought of the family of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ( Peace be upon him). He raised the sense of independence, sovereignty, integrity, and unity among the people of Iran, and Iranians emerged as a nation with a unique ideology free of Western culture’s influence, with inner satisfaction and spirituality. Despite the worst sanctions, the Iranian nation exhibited unity, made astonishing development, and stood like a rock against foreign invasion.
He stated that the Iranian nation has consistently adopted a path of resistance against oppression, aggression, and external pressure, defending its sovereignty and independence. These principles, he added, have strengthened the Islamic Revolution despite facing political, economic, cultural, and security challenges.The Consul General further said that while Ayatollah Khomeini laid the foundation of the revolution. He highlighted the unity of the Muslim Ummah, national self-reliance, scientific and technological progress, and the promotion of a resistance-based ideology as key achievements of the revolution. Dr. Syed Mehboob, Senior Research Editor, said that the unique achievement of Ayatullah Khomeini was that he lifted the Quran teachings and law from Masjids and gave it the status of the supreme law of the state, which Islamic Scholars have preached like Allama Iqbal and Syed Maududi ( May Allah shower His countless blessings on their grave ). He said that the martyrdom of Gaza’s 50,000 children and Ayatullah Khameini’s martyrdom raised great awareness among the Muslim Ummah, and the US and Israel’s plan to change the regime in Iran bitterly failed; rather, the Iranian nation stood against tyrants and exhibited unmatched steadfastness and unity. He further said that the global scenario is changing and that power is shifting from the West to the East. Allama Syed Razi Jaffer Naqvi said that Khomenei gave the verdict that when the land is Allah’s, then His law must be enforced on the land. He refused to bow to the Western pressure and gave the lesson of Tauheed. President Sindh Bar Council, Mr. Haseeb Jamali, said there is need that we create awareness about the heroic work of Ayatollah Khomenei and Khamenei among your youth. He paid rich tribute to both of these great personalities and stressed that the Muslim ummah should unite under the banner of Islam and reject sectarian differences. Dr. Miraj ul Huda Siddiqui, on the occasion, gave a very thought-provoking speech and said that Iran sank the haughtiness and pride of America and Israel under the waters of Hormuzand exposed their vulnerabilities. He said a new sun is arising from the horizon of the east, and the western hegemony is sinking.Dr Abu ul Khair described Khomenei as Ashiq e Rasool and said he was the first one among the rulers of Muslim countries who gave a verdict against Salman Rushdi. Dr Nadra Panjwani explained how Iran made steady progress despite wars and sanctions imposed on it. Agha Shirazi’s compering added further beauty to this programme. Mohtarma Syeda Masooma Shirazi recited her beautiful poem on Imam Khomenei, which was liked by everyone. Senior journalist Mr. Jawed Ahmed Malik, Mubashir Mir, and MNA Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig were also present on the occasion.
