ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Wednesday said that the security forces have killed 707 combatants of the Afghan Taliban regime as well as the Fitna Al Khawarij during Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.

The government has already decided on a “temporary pause” in the wake of Eid-ul-Fitr and on the request from brotherly Islamic countries.

Providing a summary of Afghan Taliban regime and Fitna Al Khawarij’s losses on X at 19:00 hours “till announcement of ceasefire”, the minister said as many as 255 of their posts had been destroyed, while 44 others were ‘captured and destroyed’ during the operation.

He said that over 938 Afghan operatives were injured during the Operation Ghazab lil-Haq (Righteous Fury). Around 237 tanks, armoured vehicles, and artillery guns have also been destroyed during the operation, he added.

The minister noted that around 81 terrorists and terrorist support infrastructure locations across Afghanistan effectively targeted by air.

He said Pakistan Armed Forces targeted Afghan military installations in Kabul and Nangarhar on the night of March 16.

In these strikes, Pakistan’s forces destroyed drone storage and technical support infrastructure and ammunition storage sites in Kabul and Nangarhar, which were being used by the Afghan Taliban and terrorist elements to carry out attacks against innocent Pakistani civilians, he noted.

He said likewise Pakistan Armed Forces effectively targeted and destroyed Afghan Taliban posts in the Bajur, Kuram, Torkham Khyber, North and South Waziristan sectors.

The minister also shared a video in his post on X that shows “precision engagements carried out by Pakistan against these installations, posts, and terrorist camps that directly or indirectly support terrorism from Afghan soil.”

“No civilian population or infrastructure was targeted, contrary to the false claims being propagated by Afghan regime officials and sections of the media,” he maintained.
