KUALA LUMPUR:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif landed in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday for a three-day official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement. Malaysia’s Information Minister and Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Syed Ahsan Raza Shah, and other diplomatic staff received PM Shehbaz upon his arrival at the Bunga Raya International Airport in Kuala Lumpur. From there, the prime minister was escorted with state protocol to Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim’s residence, where the Malaysian leader welcomed him. PM Shehbaz thanked his Malaysian counterpart for the warm welcome, stating that the visit would deepen bilateral ties between the two countries. The Foreign Office had said that a high-level delegation comprising Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, federal ministers and senior government officials, are also accompanying the prime minister. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Sunday said he was looking forward to cordial and constructive bilateral engagements with Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim and his team.

In a post on X, he said, “I am delighted to be in Malaysia on an official visit at the invitation of my dear brother Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia.”

“Deeply appreciate the very warm welcome accorded to me and looking forward to cordial and constructive bilateral engagements with PM Anwar Ibrahim and his team. Pakistan-Malaysia relations will continue to grow stronger and stronger, InshaaAllah,” he added.
