Sukkur – The annual elections of the Sukkur National Press Club for the year 2025-26 were held today, Friday, September 12. The Working Journalists Panel secured a decisive victory. The polling process was conducted under the supervision of the three-member Election Committee, chaired by Imdad Phulpoto along with Sarfaraz Memon and Muhammad Malook Baloch. Voting began at 4:00 PM, and the counting concluded two hours later.
According to the announced results, candidates of the Working Journalists Panel emerged successful with a clear majority. The elected office bearers include: President Abdul Rauf Abbasi, General Secretary Rashid Raza, Senior Vice President Muhammad Arif Memon, Vice President Shahid Ali Solangi, Deputy General Secretary Hussain Bux alias Aashiq Jatoi, Joint Secretary Muhammad Sachal Solangi, Treasurer Rahib Ali Mangrio, Information Secretary Din Muhammad Samijo, and Office Secretary Muzaffar Mangi.
Following the victory, newly elected President Abdul Rauf Abbasi, General Secretary Rashid Raza, and other office bearers were warmly congratulated by fellow journalists as well as political, social, legal, and business figures from various walks of life.
The newly elected leadership pledged to uphold the sanctity of the pen, expose corruption and yellow journalism, and raise public issues with full responsibility and courage.
