KARACHI:The Chief Operating Officer of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC), Engineer Asadullah Khan, has reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to delivering improved civic services, stating that ensuring better water supply and sewerage facilities for citizens remains a top priority.
He said this during a meeting with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and Member of the National Assembly, Agha Rafiullah.
The meeting focused on the ongoing issues related to water supply and sewage in Karachi’s Malir district.
Agha Rafiullah apprised the COO KW&SC of the problems faced by residents, highlighting the urgency of finding sustainable solutions.
He urged the KW&SC to address public complaints on a priority basis to provide much-needed relief to the people of Malir.
Engineer Asadullah Khan assured that the KW&SC is actively working to improve water distribution through a more equitable and efficient system.
He added that efforts are also underway around the clock to enhance the sewerage infrastructure across the city.
He instructed the officers present at the meeting to immediately begin work on resolving the identified issues in Malir.
The COO KW&SC emphasised that all complaints should be addressed without delay and long-term solutions must be implemented to prevent recurring problems.
The meeting was also attended by Malir Town Chairman Jan Muhammad Baloch, Chief Engineer WTM Syed Muhammad Ijaz, Muhammad Zahid, Tanveer Sheikh, and other senior officials.
Engineer Asadullah Khan noted that the KW&SC, under the direction of Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, is actively pursuing policies aimed at upgrading water and sewerage services across all districts of the city.
He said the department is committed to regaining public trust through improved performance and responsive service delivery.
