ISLAMABAD:Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Thursday said that incumbent government has taken steps to reduce its expenditure and provide relief to common man.
The reforms in different sectors have also been made to reduce burden on lower income group, he said while talking to a private television channel.
In reply to a question about relief in taxes in the upcoming budget, he said that government is not imposing any new taxes on people. However, he said efforts are being made to facilitate the masses in the next budget.
He said the federal board of revenue is working to bring further improvement in the tax system.The government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also taking measures to boost the economy of Pakistan and improve the living standard of the poor people, he added.
