ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has congratulated the Prime Minister Youth Program XI on their victory in the Marka-e-Haq T20 cricket match which was held here to pay tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces.
The minister also took part in the match which was played between the Prime Minister Youth Program XI and Celebrities XI at the National Cricket Stadium F-7 on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister Youth Program XI secured a four-wicket victory against Celebrities XI. The Celebrities XI team managed to score 185 runs in 20 overs.
The cricket match was attended by Chairman of the Prime Minister Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, renowned cricketer Shahid Afridi, and personalities from showbiz and various other fields.
Speaking at the ceremony, the minister noted that the game witnessed a strong sportsman spirit, highlighting the role it has played in fostering unity.
He praised both teams for demonstrating excellent performances. He also mentioned that the citizens of Islamabad came out to enjoy the match, and children took a keen interest in the event.
The Minister emphasized that through this match, solidarity was expressed with the armed forces and the victory of Marka-e-Haq was celebrated, adding that the nation needs this kind of unity.
Later in the ceremony, trophies were distributed between the winning and runner-up teams.
Hassan Liaquat was declared the Man of the Match for scoring 76 runs and taking two catches, and he was awarded a cash prize of 25,000 rupees.
