ISLAMABAD:A 39-member delegation of students from various universities of Balochistan Wednesday visited the Senate Secretariat at Parliament House, Islamabad, as part of a study tour.
Senator Danesh Kumar welcomed the students upon their arrival at Parliament House.
The delegation visited the Senate Museum, where they were briefed about Pakistan’s parliamentary history, the evolution of the Senate, the legislative process and the constitutional role of the Upper House.
A documentary on the history of the Senate was also shown to the students during the visit.
Later, the delegation visited the Senate Hall, where Principal Secretary to the Chairman of the Senate Rabia Anwar briefed them about the working of the
Senate Secretariat, parliamentary affairs, the role of standing committees, Senate proceedings, different stages of legislation and constitutional responsibilities of the Upper House.
The students appreciated the briefing and asked several questions, which were answered in detail.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Danesh Kumar said Pakistan had a talented youth population, and the young generation was the country’s most valuable asset.
He said students from Balochistan represented the bright future of their province and the country.
He advised students to focus on hard work, dedication and higher education so they could contribute effectively to national development.
The delegation also visited the Senate Broadcasting Room, where they were briefed about audio and video recording arrangements during Senate proceedings.
The students described the tour as a memorable, informative and valuable experience. They appreciated the arrangements made by the Senate Secretariat and thanked officials for providing detailed information during the visit.
