ISLAMABAD:The Supreme Court of Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of fundamental rights and personal liberty by ensuring expeditious hearing and disposal of pre-arrest and post-arrest bail cases across the country.
According to a press release issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, bail matters are being fixed and heard strictly in line with the Court’s fixation policy to ensure timely adjudication and safeguard constitutional rights of litigants.
The Court stated that at present there are no pending unfixed pre-arrest or post-arrest bail cases at the Principal Seat of the apex court in Islamabad.
The statement further revealed that during the last two weeks, as many as 226 pre-arrest and post-arrest bail cases were fixed for hearing before the Court.
It added that 109 bail matters were fixed before a bench headed by Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan with effect from May 11, 2025, reflecting the Court’s continued emphasis on the speedy disposal of liberty-related matters.
The Supreme Court reiterated its resolve to ensure accessible, efficient and timely justice, particularly in cases directly affecting citizens’ liberty, while upholding the rule of law and constitutional guarantees.
