ISLAMABAD:The National Assembly here on Monday passed a unanimous resolution expressing a deep sense of national pride, and highlighting the unmatched professionalism, vigilance, extraordinary preparedness, and resolute response demonstrated by the Pakistan Armed Forces on May 10, 2025, in the face of unprovoked and unwarranted Indian aggression.
The resolution moved by Law Minister, Azam Nazeer Tarar, deplores that, in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terrorist incident on April 22, 2025 in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a malicious campaign was immediately orchestrated by the Indian Government and amplified by its state-sponsored media to baselessly implicate Pakistan without any evidence or investigation, despite the fact that the incident was categorically condemned by the Government of Pakistan.
The House condemns that, despite a sincere and generous offer by the Prime Minister of Pakistan to participate in any neutral, transparent, and credible investigation into what was described as a false-flag operation, India proceeded to launch an unprovoked airstrike on Pakistan on May 6, 2025, targeting innocent civilians.
The National Assembly paid rich tributes to the Armed Forces of Pakistan, which, under the leadership and command of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, launched Operation Bunyanum Marsoos on May 10, 2025, delivering a befitting response to the aggression.
The House commended the bravery and operational excellence of the Pakistan Air Force, which swiftly established air superiority and shot down multiple Indian aircraft, including Rafale jets. It also extended heartfelt gratitude to all officers, soldiers, airmen, and sailors of the Armed Forces for making Operation Bunyanum Marsoos successful through courage, professionalism, and sacrifice.
It further stated that, in retaliatory strikes, Pakistan’s Armed Forces targeted and destroyed an Indian brigade headquarters, air force and aviation bases, including BrahMos facilities, which had fired missiles into Pakistan and killed innocent civilians. It added that Pakistan Air Force’s JF-17 Thunder jets destroyed India’s US$ 1.5 billion S-400 air defence system.
The House also praised the Pakistan Navy for its strategic preparedness and robust response, which successfully thwarted intrusion attempts, forcing the enemy to retreat.
It honoured the martyrs of the Pakistan Armed Forces who laid down their lives in the line of duty and inflicted a defeat upon a numerically superior enemy across all domains of warfare, including land, air, sea, and cyber.
The House acknowledged the contribution and technical expertise of Pakistan’s cyber warfare experts in countering cyber-attacks by Indian hackers, stating that several Indian strategic systems were rendered dysfunctional. It also acknowledged the contribution of the entire nation, including members of both government and opposition.
The House warned India that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be misconstrued as weakness, adding that any misadventure against Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity would not be tolerated, and that the Defence Forces would respond with full strength.
It reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering resolve to stand with the Armed Forces in defending the geographical and ideological frontiers of the country.
