ISLAMABAD:The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Wednesday postponed proceedings in the murder case of 22-year-old Islamic University student Iman Afroz, who was killed in a hostel.

The court could not record witness statements due to the absence of the accused. The hearing has now been rescheduled for March 31, and witnesses have been directed to appear again on the next date.

The case was heard by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka.

During the hearing, state counsel Naveed Hussain Kiani appeared before the court on behalf of the prosecution. However, the proceedings could not move forward because the accused, Feroz, was not present in court. Due to his absence, the court did not record the statements of the witnesses who were scheduled to testify.

The judge directed that the witnesses should appear again at the next hearing so their statements can be recorded as part of the trial process.

After brief proceedings, the court adjourned the hearing until March 31.

According to the case record, the murder case of Iman Afroz, a 22-year-old student of the International Islamic University, was registered at Ramna Police Station in Islamabad. The case relates to the killing of the student inside a university hostel.
