During the opening ceremony of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the moment Pakistan delegation marched in Beijing Bird’s Nest Stadium, it seemed as if we were walking within our own people who were cheering us and rooting for us. Yes, The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic is coming. We expect another extraordinary event will take place in China.
Some Western countries’ decision not to send diplomatic staff to the games harms their delegations and the spirit of brotherhood and fraternity of the event. We as supporters of games call upon Olympic Committees from all over the world to come together for Winter and Summer Olympiads for peace, solidarity, and friendship.
The diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics by countries including Canada and the U.S. is “a mistake” driven by a desire to restrain China’s development. A just cause attracts much support, an unjust one finds little. Those countries, including US allies in Asia and Europe, and Argentina, a country from Latin America, where the US has long seen as its “backyard,” becomes more valuable at this time, which shows Washington’s absurdity in trying to kidnap international society. It is a common consensus that Olympic sports are independent from politics and the US is going against such a consensus, which will only hurt itself.
Sport has the great power to bring people together, which is what the world needs now amid COVID-19, so the attempts to politicize sports especially the Olympic Games should be avoided. Sports should be utilized for bringing people together which is also the new word that has been added into the Olympic motto. And that is what we should be planning on.
Politicization of sports is not to take place, and it will eventually finish off it. The 2022 Winter Olympics will be a Games to be remembered. It is a expected that 2022 Winter Olympics games is going to be exciting ,fabulous and fantastic. It will also give a big message that we can fight all forms of epidemics or difficulties or hardships, and reach to at least try and move towards a particular direction together
