KARACHI: Alhamdulillah first salvage operation in Pakistan successfully accomplished by Authorized Salvage Contractor Seamax Marine Services, a local salvage company on 07 September 2021. It is in no way a small feat that the vessel Heng Tong 77 was re-floated without any major or minor injury to team members or to the environment. The team includes Director and CEO Arif Sheikh, Capt. Asif Tony, Capt. Syed Faisal Rehman was present. According to details, the ship stranded on Sea View in Karachi has been rescued on the 49th day. Heng Tong 77 was stranded at Seaview beach Clifton Karachi since 21 July 2021. Salvage of Heng tong 77 has been the first successful operation conducted in the shipping history of Pakistan that too utilising local resources and local expertise only. Seamaxtugs Harmony &Endeavour, Flat Top Barge, Muticat Seaquest and Viking utility boat took part in the sea-based operation. We are thankful to Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency for rendering all out support. We also owe our thanks to Coast Guard. KPT&DG P&S for their cooperation. Special thanks are due for SAPM Mr. Mehmood Maulvi who remained supportive in every possible manner throughout the operation. The nation celebrated defence day on 6 September. Seamax Marine Services feel pride in providing the nation on next very day 7 September to rejoice successful salvage operation.
