Characteristics and functions of student societies at university level, national level and international perspectives

Society: Society is a large number of people living together in a specific geographical area having a common all true and having feeling of association. Student Societies: A society or an organization operated by students or university or a college institution Purpose of students and their role in society. Today’s youth is tomorrow’s nation. And today’s youth are our students. Those students are playing vital role in our society and now they bring innovation in society generation after generations. It is the known to be the, crucial time of life. What is being sown today is what shall be reaped later. At this occasion, our society needs help to get rid of evils like, poverty, illiteracy, crime, etc. Everyone needs to concentrate these issues. Purpose of student society Student societies at school level: School life is not all about academics, games, friends and fun. In fact it is also about learning to interact with other people, being aware of the social issues and learning to improve the distortion present in our society. Remember how Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani activist, became the youngest noble peace winner at the age of 17 years, for advocating girl’s right to education. Student societies at university level: Societies and clubs at university are a diverse collection of groups and organizations, Such as ranging from sports teams to hobby organizations to political and liberation groups. At university level, we have to join student society organization because there are many benefits and these benefits play major role in our social life like you will meet people who share an interest with you, and you will widen your social network beyond your course and the people you live with. Student societies at National level: There are many student societies running at the national level but few are here.
1) IBA SS (IBA Student Society), University of Sindh Jamshoro. It is students run organization dedicated to promote independent thinking through educational activities, bringing together students and mentors from different classes of society in an environment conducive to learning about few fields of knowledge and broadening the scope of future possibilities the SSI provides a plat form to the students of IBA where students get educational, professional social and corporate level training from highly professional trainers and leading experts in the environment of effective learning.
2) Alumni and Industrial Relations society (NUST PNEC). TO create a bond and linkage between the existing and graduated students of PNEC, NUST, in addition to this aim of societies in execution of industrial project and placement of Pakistan Navy Engineering College students in industries. Student societies at international level: There are many famous student’s unions are run in foreign universities but some of them are here
1) USMU (university of Melbourne student union). UMSU union is growing in university to Melbourne. Its Purpose is that to provide a democratic and transparent forum in which students affairs and interests can be governed in an effective and accountable manner and to promote free and accessible government funded education.
2) UWE Bristol study union (University of west England). At UWE Bristol we strive to ensure all our students experience outstanding ,teaching, Learning and support services throughout their university life so that when they graduate they are ready and able to realize their full potential, and make a positive contribution to society and their chosen field of employment.
