LAHORE (Web Desk) – Lahore Qalandars have registered their second win of the tournament by crushing Quetta by 8 wickets. They reached the meager target of 99 set by Quetta in 11.5 overs.
Muhammad Hafeez and Ben Dunk took their team home by scoring 37 and 30 respectively. Fakhar Zaman scored 20 and captain Sohail Akhtar scored 5 before getting stumped by Sarfraz Ahmed.
Samit Patel was awarded Man of the Match award for his blistering bowling performance of 4 wickets for just 5 runs.
Quetta Gladiators inning
Quetta Gladiators finished their innings with a score of 98/9. The Quetta Gladiators got off to a terrible start with their batting lineup crumbling against the Lahore bowling attack. Quetta lost top 6 batsmen for a miserly score of 21.
Sohail Khan top scored for Quetta with 32 runs hitting two sixes and two fours. Shane Watson, Azam Khan and Ben Cutting got out without scoring. Jason Roy scored 6, Ahmed Shehzad 9, Sarfraz Ahmed 1, Mohammad Nawaz 10, Fawad Ahmed 4, Zahid Mehmood 19 and Mohammad Hasnain scored 2 runs.
Samit Patel ran through Quetta’s middle order with 4 wickets for only 5 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
Lahore Qalandars decided to field first in their fixture against Quetta Gladiators on Saturday after winning the toss.
The last time the two teams met, Qalandars beat the Quetta Gladiators by 37 runs in Lahore. This is the sole victory the Qalandars have managed in this edition of PSL.
